Nymex Oil Net Longs Rebound from Previous Decline

Crude oil managed money net long positions in Brent and WTI increased last week by +37k to 261k according to Commitments of Traders data released on Friday.

  • ICE Brent positions declined again but Nymex WTI net longs rebounded slightly following the large fall the previous week. ICE Brent net longs are the lowest since early January.
  • Oil product positions increased with Nymex diesel and gasoline recovering from the previous week’s decline.
    • ICE Brent net longs fell by -9k to 161k.
    • Nymex WTI net longs increased by +42k to 113k.
    • ICE Gasoil increased by +2k to 24k.
    • Nymex diesel increased by +5k to 16k.
    • Nymex gasoline increased by +14k to 50k.
