  • October economic activity is expected to come in at 5.2%, above the prior reading of 4.2%.
  • President Petro has attributed the recent weakness in Colombia’s peso to a fall in the amount of drug money entering the country.
    • “If the peso weakens, that’s evidence of an economic reality, which is that the dollars from cocaine are no longer entering Colombia,” Petro said Friday, at an event in Catatumbo, a major cocaine-producing region. “They remain along the route. They remain in Wall Street, New York.”
