Oman Starts Gas Production From Mabrouk Field

Oman has started natural gas and condensate production from the Mabrouk field, according to state media citing the energy ministry.

  • Production is expected to reach more than 0.5bcfd of gas by mid-2024.
  • Operator Shell Integrated Gas Oman BV will supply the gas to the OQ gas network that feeds local industries and export facilities.
  • Seperately, Oman LNG has signed binding agreements with Total Energies and Thailand’s PTT Public for the supply of around 1.6mn metric tons of LNG per year, starting in 2025, Oman News Agency said.
