PADD 1 Gasoline Imports Slip in October

European gasoline flows to PADD 1 slowed in October, heading to West Africa instead based on Vortexa product flows.

  • Overall USAC refined product imports remained steady at 565kbd in October due to increased diesel and jet imports, but gasoline imports fell 19% in October m-o-m.
  • The latest GasBuddy data showed US gasoline demand started rising mid-October before reverting at the end of the month, in line with seasonal expectations.
  • Dropping demand has lowered the incentive for refiners to pull in imports from overseas despite historically weak stockpile levels.
