Pakistan Set to Import Oil and Oil Products from Russia

Russia and Pakistan have reached a ‘conceptual’ agreement on the supply of oil and oil products to Pakistan according to Russian Deputy Energy Minister Sergey Mochalnikov.

  • "Conceptual agreements have been established on the supply of oil and oil products to Pakistan. A great foundation has also been created in energy and power engineering," he said.
  • "Today, the concept of gas supplies to Pakistan was presented. We must evaluate the position of the Pakistan Stream in this concept as soon as possible," the deputy minister added.
  • Pakistan has been struggling to buy energy on the global markets because of spiralling prices and insufficient credit – something which has hampered its ability to import LNG cargoes in particular.
