Parkland's Burnaby Refinery Restarting After Outage Since January

The Parkland 55kb/d Burnaby refinery in British Columbia, Canada began starting on March 10 but warned there could be periods of "elevated flaring" according to OPIS via Dow Jones.

  • The start of the crude feed through the distillation tower will begin following the restart process which is expected to last for several days.
  • The refinery paused some operations due to the extreme cold weather in January and ran into problems during the restart on Jan 21.
  • The facility was initially expected to be offline for four weeks.
  • During the outage spot gasoline prices in the Pacific Northwest have risen with sub-octane gasoline prices up to a premium of 16.6ct/gal to NYMEX RBOB futures.
