Parliament returns today after Christmas.........>

UK
UK: Parliament returns today after Christmas recess, with several issues on the
order paper.
- At 1430GMT (0930ET, 1530CET) Chancellor of the Exchequer Sajid Javid will face
Treasury questions. Comes after announcement that the Budget will be delivered
on Wednesday 11 March. Green Book formula to be changed to encourage gov't
infrastructure investment in northern England and Wales, rather than London and
SE England.
- At 1530GMT (1030ET, 1630CET) there is a period for any ministerial statements.
Expect a statement on the strike on Iranian General Soleimani and escalating
tensions in Middle East. Could last some time.
- Following this, up to 8 hours are set aside for debate on the European Union
(Withdrawal Agreement) Bill. Several amendments have been put forward by the
Opposition, but with a large Conservative majority these no longer garner
interest, when compared to pre-election, given no chance of passage.
