Parliament to Kick Off NATO Enlargement Talks in March

HUNGARY

The Hungarian parliament are to begin their NATO enlargement debate process as of the beginning of March, according to newswires.

  • In his state of the nation speech on Sunday, Orban reiterated that Hungary won’t supply weapons to Ukraine, as Budapest doesn’t view Moscow as a security threat – a view at odds with other NATO members.
  • Earlier in February, the head of the Prime Minister's Office, Gergely Gulyas, said that Hungary rejects attempts to create a uniform Europe but sees no alternative other than to remain a member of the EU and NATO.
