PM Kim Rules Out Cabinet Reshuffle

SOUTH KOREA

Yonhap runs comments from Prime Minister Kim Boo-kyum, who has ruled out a Cabinet rejig in the final months of the current administration.

  • His comments came in response to rumours suggesting that Finance Minister Hong Nam-ki could run for Gangwon Province governor, while Education Minister Yoo Eun-hae is setting her sights on the gubernatorial post of Gyeonggi Province.

  • Recall that tensions have recently surfaced between Lee and the Finance Ministry over the former's proposal to draw up a universal cash handout programme.
