Poland2050 Continues To Cement Its Position As Main PiS Challenger

Latest opinion poll from IBRiS shows the governing Law and Justice party (PiS) and the upstart liberal Poland 2050 party continuing to make gains at the expense of the main opposition Civic Coalition.

  • Poland, IBRiS poll: Law and Justice: 39% (+2), Poland 2050: 22% (+3), Civic Coalition: 16% (-2), The Left: 10% (-1), Confederation: 6% (-3), Polish People's Party: 6% (+1). +/- vs. 24-25 April 2021. Fieldwork: 8-9 May 2021. Sample size: 1,100. Don't Knows excluded.
  • Opinion polls are now consistently showing Poland 2050, established in 2020 by journalist and TV personality Szymon Holownia, as the main challenger to the social conservative PiS.
  • The gov't holds a narrow majority of 7 seats in the Sejm, and with inter-coalition squabbles a frequent occurrence, there is the notable prospect of a snap election before the next vote has to take place in 2023.
