Politics Remain At The Fore


The gyrations in U.S. Tsys meant that JGB futures ticked lower in the final overnight trading session of last week, but finished off worst levels, -4 vs. Tokyo settlement, after a very limited showing through the Tokyo session lows.

  • Political matters continue to dominate local news flow after incumbent PM Suga revealed that he would not run for ruling LDP Party leadership in the upcoming vote, effectively ceding his position as PM come the end of his current term.
