Powell Text Could Come Any Time (1000ET Most Common)

A reminder that there is no "official" time for the publication of Powell's prepared testimony before the House Financial Services panel today. Recent history suggests that the most likely time will be right at Powell's scheduled appearance of 1000ET/1500GMT. HOWEVER be aware that it could be released at any time (on the hour or half hour) before that, and particular attention should be paid to the following:

  • 6:30ET (1130UK)
  • 8:30ET (1330UK)
  • 9:00ET (1400UK)

That's because of the last 6 semiannual text releases:

  • 4 were released at the time of the appearance (including 3 of the 4 1000ET scheduled appearances and the last one before the Senate in March)
  • 1 was released 1 hour before
  • 1 was released 1.5 hours before
  • 1 was 3.5 hours before
