President and Finance Minister Expected To Speak At ANIF Event

  • Finance Minister Jose Antonio Ocampo speaks in a conference organized by ANIF. President Gustavo Petro is also expected to speak later at the same event.
  • Colombia’s government sold $1.62 billion in 2033 bonds to yield 8.125% to buy back debt maturing in 2023 and 2024, the Finance Ministry said in a statement.
  • Government will buy back $918.6 million of bonds to be distributed as follows:
    • $319.3 million for bonds due in March 2023
    • $381.1 million for bonds due in Feb. 2024
    • $218.2 million for bonds due in May 2024
  • $705.6 million will be used to pay the remaining 2023 global bond.
  • Demand for the sale totalled $4.2 billion, or 2.6x the issuance. The government extended average term for US-denominated debt to 14.7 years from 14.2.
