President Fined, D'Attellis To Join BCRA Board

  • Economist Agustin D’Attellis will become a director of the board at Argentina’s central bank, replacing Guillermo Hang, who moved over to the Economy Ministry on Monday, according to a ministry statement.
    • D’Attellis has previously worked as a private consultant as well as an adviser at the Economy Ministry and in the legislature.
  • President Fernández of Argentina and the first lady have been fined for breaking strict Covid lockdown rules after leaked photos showed them enjoying a birthday party.
    • The couple agreed to pay a penalty of 3 million pesos in the form of a charitable donation, in return for legal proceedings against them being dropped following the scandal.
