UK DATA: Productivity Rebounds Modestly To 18-Month High
- UK Q4 Output per Hour +0.3% y/y vs +0.1% Q3, +0.3% q/q vs +0.4%

Productivity -- measured by output per hour -- rose by 0.3% in the final 
quarter of 2019, according to a flash estimate, the fastest pace since a 
1.4% gain in Q2 2018. Thats's the second consecutive increase after four 
straight quarterly declines and should bring a degree of relief to Bank 
of England policy makers, many of whom have publicly aired concerns over 
the link between persistently low productivity and sluggish wage growth. 
However, productivity growth remains well below the 1.1-1.2% rate the 
prevailed in 2017-2018.
