Putin Confirms NS1 to Come Back Online Post-Maintenance

  • Following test flows through the Nord Stream 1 pipeline yesterday, Putin signaled that full flows will restart, but added that delays in receiving the Siemens turbine via Canada will mean that volumes could be cut to around 20% of capacity.
  • Putin’s meeting with the Turkish and Iranian leaders yesterday was dubbed as “useful and quite substantive”, with the leaders announcing trilateral agreements on the approach to Syria, while stating that not all issues had been resolved to allow for a full grain corridor from southern Ukraine into the Black Sea.
  • The President today attends a forum run by the government-backed Agency for Strategic Initiatives, at which he’ll be watched for any further indications or timetables for a resumption of gas flow into the continent. The topic of the forum is “Strong Ideas for a New Time”.
  • In their forward-looking sales forecasts, aircraft maker Boeing has cut the assumption of any Russian sales whatsoever across the coming 20 years, according to Kommersant.
  • PPI data is also due, seen rising by 1.5% on the month, and 18.0% on a year on year basis.
