Putin Says E-Hub To Set Gas Prices For EU May Be Ready In Months

An electronic platform to set gas prices for European consumers may be created within months, Russian President Vladimir Putin said.

  • “It is there where we’ll largely determine the final price for our European consumers, because what they have done on their platforms is madness”, Putin said.
  • Turkey’s gas infrastructure “has serious potential” for creation of a gas hub in coming years, Putin said when speaking with ministers about gas cooperation with Turkey.
  • The European energy ministers were unable to find a compromise on the proposed price cap on European gas prices on 13 Dec. EU ministers are likely to agree on a the cap on Monday, head of states said on Thursday.
