UK DATA: Q1 Current Account Gap Balloons on Import Surge
-UK Q1 Current Account Deficit Hits Stg30.045bn from Stg23.707bn
-UK Q1 Deficit Rises to 5.6% of GDP from 4.4% Q4

The UK current account deficit surged in the first quarter, courtesy of 
a surge in imports ahead of the original Brexit date of March 29. The 
total trade gap more than doubled to Stg20.267bn from Stg9.438bn, 
subtracting a record-high 2.99 percentage points from total GDP growth. 
Measured as a percentage of GDP, the current account gap hit its fifth 
largest percentage ratio on record.
