Qatar to Seel All North Field LNG Capacity by End-2023: Energy Minister

The expansion of Qatar’s North Field LNG project is going well and there is a possibility of selling all of the LNG capacity from the project by the end of this year, Qatar's Minister of State for Energy Affairs Saad al-Kaabi said.

  • Platts reported in late August, Qatar has so far locked in only 11.8mtpa of its 48mpta expansion in long-term contracts.
  • Qatar is planning to raise its LNG production capacity from 77mn t/yr currently to 126mn t/yr by 2027 with the expansion of six LNG trains.
