Supply issues to Europe pushed the JKM price up as high as 44$/mmbtu last week.

  • The weekly average reached a new high of 42.5$/mmbtu surpassing the previous high of 40.5$/mmbtu in the first week of March this year.
  • High prices have been driven by the global tight LNG supply and have contributed to softer demand in Asia. Demand from China, Japan, South Korea and India are all lower for Jan-Jul this year compared to last year according to Kpler. China -19.6% yr/yr, Japan -2.2% yr/yr, India -11.8% yr/yr.
