Recovery From PMI-Related Losses

EQUITIES

Equities have recovered an earlier dip following weak French PMI data, and are broadly flat on the session.

  • Asian stock markets closed higher, with Japan's NIKKEI up 39.68 pts or +0.17% at 22920.3 and the TOPIX up 4.86 pts or +0.3% at 1604.06. China's SHANGHAI closed up 16.784 pts or +0.5% at 3380.683 and the HANG SENG ended 322.45 pts higher or +1.3% at 25113.84
  • European futures have staved off earlier PMI-related losses for the most part, with the German Dax up 40.52 pts or +0.32% at 12865.45, FTSE 100 down 18.51 pts or -0.31% at 5998.38, CAC 40 up 2.88 pts or +0.06% at 4916.46 and Euro Stoxx 50 up 7.86 pts or +0.24% at 3279.47.
  • U.S. futures have pared gains as the dollar heads higher, with the Dow Jones mini up 8 pts or +0.03% at 27660, S&P 500 mini down 0.5 pts or -0.01% at 3378.5, NASDAQ mini up 5.5 pts or +0.05% at 11477.25.
