Republic of Congo to Start LNG Exports this Year: Minister

The Republic of Congo is planning to start LNG exports for the first time in December, the Minister of Mines and Hydrocarbons Bruno Jean-Richard Itoua said, cited by Bloomberg.

  • Eni announced in April it is moving forward with the first production from the planned LNG project in the Republic this year, which is expected to be shipped to Europe.
  • The first vessel is being converted into a floating LNG production facility with capacity of 0.6mtpa, Eni said in a statement in April.
  • A second FLNG ship with a capacity of 2.4mtpa will begin operations in 2025.
