Respecting The Morning Ranges

GILTS

Gilts are happy to look through any U.S. data-/$IG issuance-inspired moves, with futures sticking to the range defined in the London morning.

  • Futures last -17 at 97.40 (96.92-97.56 range), with well-defined technical parameters intact.
  • Cash gilt yields are 1.5bp lower to 1.0bp higher, with the belly/intermediates under modest pressure and the wings a touch firmer on the day.
  • Discussions have centred on wider global matters and the previously covered opening of gilt auctions to retail investors via certain channels. Domestic PMI readings had no tangible impact despite the slightly hawkish undertones.
