Rhine Water Levels Recover but Remain Low in North

Rhine water levels in Germany have recovered close to normal levels after heavy rainfall but remain too low in some northern areas according to Reuters reports.

  • The chokepoint at Kaub is only 1 cm below the level allowing full vessel loadings.
  • The Rhine is still too shallow for normal sailing in the northern areas around Cologne and Duisburg.
