RTRS-Biden Tells G7/NATO Missile Hitting Poland Came From Ukraine

Reuters reporting that according to a NATO source, US President Joe Biden has told G7 and NATO allies that the missile that struck Poland last night and killed two individuals originated not from Russia, but from a Ukrainian air defence system.

• If confirmed, this could de-escalate the situation away from Article 5 being invoked by Poland (the collective defence pact). Nevertheless, blame still laid at Russia's door, with Ukraine allies arguing the Ukrainian missile would not have been launched if it were not for the Russian invasion.
• Comments from the Russian foreign ministry being reported by state-run RIA. States that the accusations that a Russian missile hit Polish territory are 'deliberate provocations'.
• Says that a 'massive attack' on military targets and energy infrastructure took place on Tuesday, adding that the strike 'reached its goals'.
• Says that the 'high-precision strikes' were carried out only on Ukrainian territory and no closer than 35km from the Ukrainian-Polish border.
• Alleges that photos from the missile wreckage recovered in Poland have been identified as parts of the Ukrainian S-300 missile defence system.
