Russia Confirms Permit for Kazakh Oil Supply to Germany

KazTransOil will be able to supply 300k tons of oil to Germany in Q1 2023 through Transneft’s oil pipeline systems.

  • The relevant permit was issued by the Ministry of Energy of Russia according to a statement on the KazTransOil website.
  • Oil will be shipped towards the Adamova Zastava oil delivery point for further delivery to Germany.
  • Kazakhstan plans to supply 20k tonnes of crude oil to Germany via Russia this month and is ready to supply 1.5m tons this year according to the Kazakh Energy Ministry on Wednesday.
  • The Kazakhstan supplies to Germany will help replace lost Russia supplies. Germany’s Schwedt and Leuna refineries have been running at reduced capacity since 1 Jan, when the German government decided to phase out all Russian oil imports.
