Russia Remains Chinese Main Crude Supplier in June

Russia remains the biggest crude supplier for China for a second month running in June according to Chinese General Administration of Customs out today.

• Russian crude imports totalled 7.29 million tonnes in June, up nearly 10% from a year ago.

• At an equivalent of around 1.77mn bpd, Russian supplies were below May’s pace of close to 2mn bpd.

• China imported 5.06 million tonnes from Saudi Arabia, or 1.23 million bpd, down from 1.84 million bpd in May and 30% below the level in June last year.

• Lockdowns in China has resulted in overall crude imports tumbling to a near four-year low.

• The data showed China imported 260,000 tonnes of Iranian crude oil last month, its fourth shipment of Iranian oil since last December.
