Russia Targets Infrastructure Projects to Increase Oil Exports

Russia has approved a plan to expand its oil export infrastructure in the next few years. Russia is looking to improve its East bound infrastructure now that its oil exports are primarily heading to Asia.

  • "By order of the President, in December last year, Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak approved the action plan prepared jointly with Transneft to implement the development of Russia's oil export infrastructure for the period through 2026," Energy Minister Nikolai Shulginov said.
  • "In order to increase oil supplies to the Asia-Pacific countries, a project has been implemented to expand the port of Kozmino more than 10%, taking into account the pipeline infrastructure," he said.
  • "The implementation of other priority projects on this roadmap continues, including the expansion of the main oil pipelines in the directions of the port of Primorsk and the port of Novorossiysk, which is planned for 2025," he added.
