Russian Diesel Exports Slip in Early October

Russian seaborne diesel exports fell by 20% to about 1.1 million metric tons in the first 15 days of October vs the same period September according to LSEG.

  • Idle primary oil refining capacity for October is estimated at 4.0 million tons - down 22% from September as the maintenance season unwinds according to Reuters.
  • Russian diesel loadings out of the Baltic port of Primorsk - the country’s biggest outlet for exports of ULSD - have fallen in the first 15 days of October by 22% from the same period in September to 330,000 metric tons.
  • Turkey is the top destination for Russian diesel exports at 280,000 metric tonnes so far this month.
  • Loading to Brazil are down 20% from Sep 1-15 at 211,000 metric tonnes this month.
