Vortexa is currently tracking 40 distinct tankers that have been loading Russian oil since March 2022 and that were once part of the Iranian subterfuge fleet.
- Seven of these tankers are currently travelling with Urals, ESPO, and HSFO as of October 25 with several heading to buyers in Asia.
- Of the 40 tankers, 25 are Aframaxes, six Suezmaxes, and four VLCCs, while the other vessels are of the Panamax and Handymax classes.
- A new technique of dark STS transfers being carried out in the North Atlantic has aimed to also help launder origin according to Vortexa.
