Russia’s August Gasoline Output Up Y-o-Y

Russia’s gasoline production in August rose by 1.6% compared to the same month in 2022 reaching 3.829m mt, according to Rosstat.

  • Over the same period, diesel production increased by 6.5% on the previous year to 7.649m mt.
  • In the first eight months of 2023, gasoline production was 29.4m mt, up 3.4% on the year, while diesel production rose 6.8% on the year to 59.6m mt.
  • Both diesel and gasoline have been subject to an export ban since Sep. 21. Diesel is traditionally one of the main export goods in Russia, while gasoline is consumed mostly by the domestic market, according to Tass.
