Saudi Crude Exports Fall in January

Crude shipments from Saudi Arabia in January fell to their lowest in seven months according to Bloomberg tanker-tracking.

  • Flows fell to about 6.77mb/d in January from 7.25mb/d in December with lower supply to both India and China.
  • Cargoes to South Korea also fell while shipments to US and to Egypt increased. Egypt is a storage and transit hub for flows to US and Europe.
  • Asian flows could be revised higher with unknown destination cargoes mostly heading east.
  • Saudi Arabia currently has an OPEC production target of 10.478mb/d.
