Shell Confirms Disruption On Forcados Oil Terminal

Shell has suspended loadings of Nigeria’s Forcados crude oil due to a potential leak at the export terminal on Wednesday evening, a spokesperson for its local subsidiary from Shell said.

  • “The SPDC ... can confirm that injections into the Forcados Oil Terminal were curtailed on Wednesday 12 July, following the report of some sheen in the mooring vicinity,” a spokesperson said.
  • Shell suspended loadings at the terminal after workers observed fumes near the single buoy mooring that was loading oil onto a vessel, a source said.
  • Forcados exports were scheduled at 220kbpd in July, a source told Reuters.
