Shell's Prelude Faces Loading Disruptions Until Mid-July.

Shell said this morning that LNG shipments from its Prelude facility off northwest Australia would be disrupted for at least two weeks following work bans by unions.

  • "We have issued a notice to customers that cargoes will be impacted until at least mid-July due to the industrial action," Shell said on the matter.
  • The facility only re-opened three months ago after a four-month shutdown prior due to technical issues with a major power failure.
  • The LNG loading disruptions add to overall global LNG tightness at present which is fronted by an extended outage at Freeport in the US.
