Steady Flow of LNG into EU as Warm Weather Eases Pressure on Supply

Net LNG imports into Europe are stable at around 365mcm/d with warm weather keeping demand down and easing the pressure on global LNG supplies.

  • Despite the falling European gas prices the TTF is still trading at a premium to JKM with the December spread at around -7$/mmbtu. The US netback to Europe is down to 28.07$/mmbtu according to Bloomberg calculations while the US netback to Asia is down to 19.11$/mmbtu.
  • The total volume of LNG at sea for at least 20 days has increased 3.2% over the last week up to 4.59m tons according to Blomberg data. There are currently 23 tankers expected to arrive into NW Europe in the first couple of weeks of November.

    • NBP DEC 22 down -5.3% at 284.68p/th
    • JKM Dec 22 down -2.9% at 27.54$/mmbtu
    • JKM-TTF Nov 22 down -12.3$/mmbtu at -6.75$/mmbtu
    • US Natgas DEC 22 down -3.7% at 6.12$/mmbtu
