Stoltenberg-China And Russia Are Stepping Up Cooperation

Speaking at a presser ahead of next week's NATO Foreign Affairs ministers' meeting in Bucharest, Romania, NATO Secretary-General warns not just of threat to NATO from Russia, but also China. Stoltenberg: 'War in Ukraine has shown our dangerous dependence on Russian gas. So we must assess our dependence on authoritarian regimes, not least China.'

  • On the war in Ukraine says that NATO will not back down, and that 'We must support Ukraine until a political resolution to feud with Russia is reached.'
  • Calls for Sweden and Finland to be admitted to NATO immediately. Hungarian PM confirmed yesterday that Hungarian parliament would vote on ratifying accession in the new year, leaving Turkey as the only holdout.
