Swedish FSA Lifting Banks CET1 Minima: Very Small, Unlikely To Impact Credit

BBG is reporting the Swedish FSA raising capital requirements for local banks.

  • Regulatory minima are being tweaked higher but only by very small increments.
    • SEB to 14.70% (from 14.61%)
    • Handelsbanken to 14.84% (from 14.83%), and
    • Swedbank to 15.10 (from 14.99%)
  • The SFSA is hugely conservative and these banks are some of the best capitalised in Europe - don't see this as a spread mover.
