Tax Bill Eliminates Bond Withholding Tax For Foreigners

COLOMBIA

(Bloomberg) Colombia is seeking to eliminate the 5% tax levied on foreign holders of local peso bonds, according to a draft copy of a tax bill which was circulated to local media.

  • Bill sets limit for primary fiscal deficit of 1.8% of GDP in 2022, 0.7% in 2023 and 0.2% in 2024.
  • Finance Minister Alberto Carrasquilla is scheduled to give a press conference on the bill today, after it is sent to congress.
