Tellurian Receives Extension for Completion of Driftwood LNG

LNG

Tellurian said the US FERC issued a three-year extension to its order authorizing the construction of Tellurian’s Driftwood LNG facility near Lake Charles, Louisiana, according to Bloomberg.

  • “Because we find that Driftwood has demonstrated good cause for delay and progress in developing the projects, we will grant the requested three-year extension of time to complete construction of the Driftwood LNG terminal and Driftwood Pipeline project,” the FERC said.
  • The order requires construction to be completed by April 19, 2029.
  • Tellurian applied for the extension in October to ensure it had enough time to finish construction of all five plants of the facility. It said that it required an extra 36 months.
  • When completed, the facility will have a capacity of 27.6m mtpa.
