GILT SUMMARY: The gilts opened unchanged, but have now drifted lower with the
10Y part of the yield curve seen underperforming, likely weighed by 10Y gilt
reopening auction scheduled for today for Stg2.5bln. The 10Y yield is currently
trading 0.3bp higher at 1.313% according to Tradeweb.
- Theresa May's said in an open letter on her Facebook page that a deal on
citizens right was 'in touching distance'. According to the BBC she has "vowed
to make it as easy as possible for EU citizens to remain in the UK after
Brexit." This is ahead of a European Council meeting that is due to take place.
- There was also reports of David Davis, UK's Brexit secretary saying in a
comment that "a hard Brexit is remote possibility" according to Le Figaro, a
French daily.
- Markets will be awaiting key Retail Sales data today at 0930BST. MNI median
forecast for Retail Sales for Sep M/M at -0.3%.
- Market will be eyeing doorstep comments ahead of the EU Council meeting that
starts later today. PM May is expected address EU ministers after the council
dinner.
