STOCKS: The rally in Chinese stocks drew the most attention in the space, aided
by positive earnings, as the CSI 300 added 2.4% in the morning session.
- Elsewhere a firmer JPY weighed on the Nikkei 225, which underperformed,
operating in marginal negative territory.
- The Hang Seng lodged gains of circa 1.0% in the morning session, as IT led the
way higher, while industrial names added the most weight.
- The ASX 200 added around 0.7%, with the heavyweight financials and industrials
near the top of the pile, although the utilities sector provided some
counterweight.
- U.S. index futures managed modest gains.
