Third Quarter GDP Data Scheduled

  • Brazil’s economy likely contracted moderately in the third quarter, ending an eight-quarter growth streak. Growth is expected to have risen 1.8% in Q3’23 on a yearly comparison, according to analysts’ estimates surveyed by Bloomberg, after rising 3.4% in the prior reading. National statistics agency IBGE releases the report at 1200GMT/0700ET:
    • Q3 GDP QoQ, est. -0.3%, prior 0.9%
    • Q3 GDP YoY, est. 1.8%, prior 3.4%
    • Q3 GDP 4Qtrs Accumulated, est. 2.8%, prior 3.2%
