US TSY FLOWS: Tsy futures chopping around steady/mixed at the moment after
blipping higher last hour, volume off mid-week high. Mkt angst over specific N
Korean threats vs. US/Guam cross Pres Trump's red line set late Tue; ongoing
speculation re: threats, retaliation. Equities weaker (eminis -10.25, 2462.75),
gold firmer (+3.36, 1280.70), oil firmer (WTI +.31, 48.89).
- Asia, Tsys opened and traded mildly weaker through Asian hours. S Korea, Japan
both said would react if N Korea attacked US' Guam. Underlying bid: safe haven
buying from Asian accts, Japanese bank buying 3s, insurance portfolio and credit
tied buying in front end. Japan mkt holiday Fri and Obon market holiday next wk.
- London, inched off lows midday UK hours, choppy trade on thin participation.
Flow included foreign central banks, misc acct buying 5s, end users two-way on
net after earlier sales.
- Swaps, steady/mixed, spd curve mildly flatter. incoming supply weighing on
long end spds.
- Eurodollars, steady/mixed, narrow range; 3M LIBOR -0.0001 to 1.3091%
(-0.0027/wk).
