TTF Edges Higher on Cool Weather and Norway Maintenance

NATURAL GAS

TTF front month is edging higher today with support from cool weather and ongoing Norwegian maintenance with upside limited by strong LNG flows and higher than average storage levels.

    • TTF MAY 23 up 0.8% at 41.47€/MWh
    • TTF WIN 23 up 0.9% at 56.45€/MWh
  • Some Norwegian maintenance planned for this week was yesterday cut short or pushed back because of Norwegian industry strikes. Kollsnes maintenance ends eight days earlier than planned, and some works at Troll are delayed until next week. Oil and gas production is unaffected by the strikes. Norwegian imports are today nominated slightly higher than yesterday at 311.1mcm/d.
  • LNG imports into Europe are strong up at 473mcm/d on 16 Apr with competition for supplies from Asia still muted despite some increased interest at the lower price this year.
  • European gas storage is at 56.55% on 16 Apr according to GIE data with near normal injections.
  • Gas transit flows through Ukraine are today nominated at 41.7mcm/d and Algeria gas flow to Italy at Mazara are up at 83.8mcm/d.
