TTF Pulls Back Amid Cooler Weather to Support JKM-TTF Spread

Northeast Asian LNG prices remain steady amid a drop in buying activity as European natural gas prices ease lower.

  • TTF is gradually pulling back from a peak of nearly 40.6€/MWh on 20 June as warm weather across Europe falls back toward normal to ease cooling demand pressure in NW Europe during the coming week. Competition for LNG supplies from Asia remains muted as concern for tight supplies amid Norway maintenance is adding to market volatility.
  • India’s Gail didn’t award a tender for a three cargo swap from US Cover Point to Dharma for delivery from Nov 2023 to Jan 2024.
  • JKM front month is down from a high of around 12.9$/mmbtu yesterday but TTF is fall faster to bring the JKM-TTF spread up to the highest since early June.

    • NBP JUL 23 down -4.6% at 87.6p/th
    • JKM Jul 23 down -2.1% at 12.48$/mmbtu
    • JKM-TTF Jul 23 up 0.6$/mmbtu at 1.17$/mmbtu
    • US Natgas JUL 23 up 0.2% at 2.6$/mmbtu
