Tyra gas field on Track to Restart by End March

NATURAL GAS

Denmark's largest natural gas field Tyra is on track to restart production by the end of March, according to BlueNord on Tuesday.

  • The field will undergo a four-month ramp-up phase up to a plateau production level in mid-2024.
  • The field was temporarily shut for redevelopment in 2019 after the seabed had sunk several metres under its platforms. Production of 2.8bcm of gas per year is expected, TotalEnergies said.
  • The restart would make Denmark self-sufficient and a net exporter of natural gas.
  • TotalEnergies operates Tyra for the Danish Underground Consortium (DUC) and holds a 43.2% stake. BlueNord holds 36.8% and Nordsofonden owns 20%.
