U.S. Says No Tariff Announcement Coming After Blinken-Yi Meeting

A senior U.S. State Department official has told RTRS that there will be no announcement re: China tariffs in the wake of the upcoming meeting between U.S. Secretary of State Blinken and Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi, with the meeting centred on the responsible management of the relationship that exists between the two nations, which “requires engagement.” Note there has been some suggestions in the wider press that a (modest) tariff rollback could have been announced in the wake of the meeting/at some point this week, although those expectations have been watered down here.
