Ukraine Power Imports to Rise to New Record on Monday
POWER
Ukrainian power imports from EU countries are expected to reach 27.17 GWh on Monday, as Russian missile strikes over the weekend further damaged Ukrainian energy infrastructure, the Ukrainian energy minister said, as cited by XM.
- Ukrainian TSO Ukrenergo will also implement power demand restrictions across the country due to six massive Russian attacks on the country's power plants.
- Ukraine will import electricity from five EU countries – most likely Romania, Slovakia, Poland, Hungary, and Moldova.
- Separately, Ukraine’s 1.5GW Dniprovska hydro plant has not been able to produce power since the attacks, according to Interfax-Ukraine news, cited by BBC on 1 June.
- Ukraine will finalise a decision on increasing the country’s power import capacity by this winter, with technical import capacity as high as 2.5GW, Energy Minister German Galuschenko said on 31 May, cited by Interfax.
