UNCTAD: Suez Clearance Will Take Around 4 Days

The United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD) has stated that clearing the Suez Canal to allow for the return of full traffic will take around 4 days due to the damage caused by the beaching of the Ever Given.

  • The body, which is part of the UN Secretariat dealing with trade, investment, and development issues, said that the backlog caused at European ports by the Suez blockage could take months to unwind.
