Urals Oil Cluster in Baltic Sea Clearing

Four out of the five previously tankers in the Baltic Sea laden with Urals crude and idle for over a week have departed for destinations, according to Bloomberg.

  • Only the Nemo 1 has yet to leave, having idled near Ust-Luga since Jan. 20
  • The Naxos, Antaeus, Sagar Violet, and Makula are headed towards India or China.
  • However, only three of nine tankers that loaded from Primorsk after Jan. 24 have departed, with the remaining six remaining near Ust-Luga.
  • Bloomberg noted that it is not unusual for tankers to stay a few days near Ust-Luga after loading, likely for bunkering.
